🇫🇷 Flirtatious France

Where love blossoms amidst art, history, and delectable cuisine.

Stroll hand-in-hand through Parisian streets, savoring pastries in charming cafés. Actually, scratch that, you better get some legitimate baguettes!

After you do, admire the beautiful views of the Seine, and fall in love with the timeless beauty of France, from Normandy’s coastline (Le Havre is a must!) to the Vosges Mountains and the idyllic beaches of Southern France. Oh yea, on second thought, you might want to check out the Louvre (forgot that part).

🛍️ France, But Make It Remote

France is a country that balances work and play—with strikes, a lot of them.

But the work life balance does exist. There are 35-hour workweeks and rules set around how work is handled outside the office.

For digital nomads, Paris isn’t just an easy Air France layover—it’s a good base for Europe travel. When living in France, our family used it successively to venture out to Spain, German, Italy, and many of other European countries. The Paris Gare du Nord train station will be come your second home.

But I’m not hating on layover travelers. I’m one. In fact, I turned a 10-hour Air France layover into a full Parisian food crawl. Pro tip? Don’t book The RER train from CDG. Instead just get an Uber to take you to central Paris within an hour. Trust me, you’ll still have time to spare.

If you have a longer stay, consider visiting Reunion Island. It’s France—but in the Indian Ocean. You can use euros, speak French, and still be sipping alcoholic punch at a beautiful hotel overlooking a mountain range.

🏞️ Paris to Provence: Regional Highlights for Nomads

  • Paris: Good coworking, amazing art, and train access to France and greater Europe.
  • Colmar: French-German blend, ideal for a Euro-nomad base and for adding to Switzerland itineraries.
  • Nice & Cannes: Sunshine + sea breeze
  • Reunion Island: For those chasing Hawaii like scenery, mixed with crazy volcanic landscape, and a 1-billion dollar bridge.

✨ Layover Diaries & Air France Notes

“Tell me why I keep trying to sneak a layover on a flight that connects in Paris?”

If you’re flying Air France internationally, consider their flights with long layovers in Paris. I turn what would otherwise be boring layovers into a repeat bonus trip to Paris.

Air France also consistently upgraded me thanks to Delta Platinum status. Combine that with SkyPriority security fast-lane and you’ll breeze through CDG.

🌟 From Baguettes to Beaches

France gives you reasons to appreciate life (not just work). The same is true for other European countries like Spain and Portugal.

If you feel the travel bug to explore more of France—but you want an area that’s not visited by Americans? I got the answer: Reunion Island. It’s a French overseas territory that’s closer to mainland Africa and the east-African country Mauritius than Paris itself.

Reunion Island was easily one of the most exciting destinations on a recent travel (Reunion-Mauritius). The food, the mountains, and the way it balances European and other identities is crazy. Add the sunsets? It’s just amazing (not the cost).

✅ TL;DR: Is France Worth It for Remote Work?

Yes. If you love good WiFi, real bread, and cities that feel like open-air museums, France will flirt with you—your senses—and make you wonder why you were leaving the country in the first place, just dying to come back.

Whether you’re passing through or setting up base, there’s room to work and live life.

In Paris? Don’t skip the Louvre. Visit the Shakespeare and Company bookstore in the Quartier Latin and grab a gyro. And go in the evening to see the city really light up.
